Key Responsibilities

As Corporate Counsel, you will:



  • Draft and file pleadings with FERC related to resource adequacy and market operations.
  • Provide legal support to internal subject matter experts and respond to data requests.
  • Review and revise Business Practices Manuals and Tariff redlines.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and provide real-time legal insights.
  • Support MISO's involvement in FERC technical conferences and RTO-ISO Council initiatives.
  • Contribute to special projects, including Alternative Dispute Resolution and compliance filings.


What We're Looking For



  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in any U.S. state or D.C.
  • Must obtain Indiana licensure within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and draft clear, persuasive pleadings.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $142,000-$167,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.

Qualifications
Education
Post-Baccalaureate Program of Law (JD) (required)
Experience
4 - 8 years: FERC and tariff experience preferred (preferred)
4 - 8 years: Experience in utility, energy, or regulatory law (required)
