Job Summary
The Case Manager Specialist is a registered nurse within the Occupational Health Case Management Team. The Case Management team provides services (assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluating care) for short-term disability, long-term disability, family medical leaves, and worker's compensation cases both internally and externally. Providing exceptional service for employers, patient/employees, and all members of the health care team is the expectation of the Case Management Team. All members are expected to focus on the needs of the employer, employee/patient; relate to all in a friendly, accepting manner; communicate in a positive and professional way; use time effectively and efficiently; and demonstrate an overall high level of performance. The Case Manager Working Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for assisting the Manager of Work Comp Employer Relations with the administration, coordination, and function of the Case Management team. The case management team focus is the coordination of services to achieve quality care in a cost effective manner. The case management team provides services (assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluating care) for short term disability, family medical leave and workers compensation cases both internally and externally.

What you will do



  • Leadership: * Oversee the day to day functions of the Case Management team to assure a high level of productivity and customer service. * Promote teamwork and provide supportive environment for case management staff and other departments that interact with case management team. * Analyzes and recommends changes in department processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiencies in the department. * Act as a role model for staff through professional conduct, adhering to the dress code, appropriate communication, excellent customer service skills, and supports management decisions. * Create a climate where case management team is empowered and strives to do their best. * Dedicated to meeting or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. * Assist with team meetings, coordination, and function of the case management team. * Ensure compliance with standards of care, case manager code of conduct, and clinical/administrative procedures. * Coordinate supervision, training, and software needs of the case management team in conjunction with Manager. * Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested. * Provide backup to Manager for orientation educational presentations. * Participate in professional developmental activities and maintain professional affiliations. * Assures confidentiality of management information, staff information, and patient information.
  • Clinical Competencies: * Support caseloads of case management team and work comp injury management team program. * Working knowledge of all case management team roles and is available as a clinical resource to staff. * Provide coverage for all staff shortages and vacations.


Experience Qualifications



  • Prior experience supervising staff Required
  • 3-5 years Three or more years' experience as an RN Required

  • Knowledge, skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse number of internal and external customers
  • Ability to apply administrative principals and methods to include team planning, support, organization, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to acquire and synthesize new information with a high level of detail
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple interruptions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows based computer applications.


Licenses and Certifications



  • Current license as Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
  • Certification in Case Management and/or Certification in Occupational health Nursing preferred and/or experience with FMLA and Workers Compensation Upon Hire Required
