Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.


We are in search of new talent in the following position...

Position: Case Manager



The Case Manager plays a critical role in advancing housing stability, financial security, and overall well-being for program participants. This includes comprehensive case management, referrals, benefits navigation, and assistance with housing-related financial needs. The Case Manager is also required to conduct home visits.



The Paloma Project- Based out of VOA-Greater New York's Economic Empowerment Center, provides trauma-informed, housing-focused support to survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking. The program offers scattered-site transitional housing and rapid rehousing assistance, with individualized service coordination to promote housing stability, safety, and long-term independence.



Location: Bronx, NY, 10455



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Associates degree or 60 college credits plus two years' relevant experience or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • The position also requires a demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication, including basic computer skills.



Case Manager Principal Responsibilities:



  1. Conduct client intakes and comprehensive needs assessments.
  2. Develop and implement individualized service plans that address housing, safety, health, and personal stability goals.
  3. Coordinate supportive services with internal staff and external partners, including legal, mental health, housing, financial literacy & budgeting services, and public benefit agencies.
  4. Refer participants to appropriate employment and education services as needed; provide warm handoffs to employment specialists or external providers.
  5. Prepare and submit Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) packages to support rent, utilities, moving costs, and other eligible housing-related expenses.
  6. Provide benefits navigation and advocacy, ensuring clients access and retain public assistance and entitlements.
  7. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all services and client progress in accordance with the agency and funder requirements.
  8. Conduct follow-up services for up to 12 months after program exit to support long-term housing and personal stability.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and service coordination meetings.
  10. Adhere to confidentiality protocols and comply with all internal and external policy requirements.
