About the Teams

Lakewood Health System is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital providing exceptional Medical, Surgical, Obstetrical, and Swing Bed care. We take pride in delivering high-quality, patient-centered services supported by a collaborative team of Registered Nurses, LPNs, Obstetrical Technicians, Health Unit Coordinators and Nursing Assistants.

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is excited about a unique dual-department role, dividing time equally between Medical/Surgical and Obstetrics. This position is ideal for an RN who thrives in a dynamic environment and values the opportunity to strengthen skills across two essential patient care areas.

Mission for Position

The Registered Nurse will provide expert nursing care that promotes healing, supports growing families, and enhances the patient experience across two essential hospital departments-offering clinical excellence, thoughtful communication, and consistent advocacy for patient needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse in this dual Med-Surg and Obstetrics role provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across both departments. This position supports patients experiencing a wide range of medical, surgical, and obstetrical needs. Responsibilities include:



  • Admitting, assessing, and continuously monitoring patients
  • Administering medications and treatments according to provider orders
  • Supporting laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients with skilled clinical care and timely interventions
  • Managing patient care plans and coordinating services with providers, interdisciplinary teams, and ancillary departments (including lactation support when applicable)
  • Documenting assessments, interventions, and patient progress promptly and accurately
  • Providing education and guidance to patients and families throughout all phases of care
  • Responding to changing patient conditions and prioritizing care needs across diverse patient populations
  • Collaborating with nursing staff, OB technicians, and other team members to ensure safe and seamless care delivery
  • Contributing to a supportive, efficient, and patient-focused environment in both Med-Surg and Obstetrics


Position Type



  • Full-time, experienced RN role
  • 50/50 split between Med-Surg and Obstetrics
  • Night shift, every third weekend, and rotating holidays are required

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Active Minnesota RN License
  • Previous Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Previous Obstetrics nursing experience required
  • CPR certification
  • ALS certification (can obtain upon hire)
  • NRP certification (can obtain upon hire)
