Overview

VTG is seeking a skilled Salesforce API Integration Developer who is well-versed in the Salesforce Standard Object model, API management, and the Salesforce Platform generally.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and the ability to translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions. This is a full-time (direct hire) position offering a salary and comprehensive benefits package. This position may be a hybrid role - work is performed either remote with permission from management or on-site at client HQ in Arlington, VA.


What will you do?

  • Administer and manage our Salesforce environment, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction for internal Salesforce users and external experience cloud portal users
  • Develop Salesforce to ingest external RESTful APIs in a secure, scalable, and efficient design
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Maintain and enhance existing API connections, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, including data mismatches, authentication errors, and performance bottlenecks
  • Document API architecture, endpoints, and workflows for internal use and future scalability
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards across all integrations
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
  • Maintain all current certifications via Trailhead's maintenance exams
  • Acquire additional Salesforce certifications as required, minimum of 1 additional certification attained per performance period

Do you have what it takes?

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have 3-7 years of experience
  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator with a strong understanding of the Salesforce Platform including Experience Cloud (e.g., Salesforce Functions, Logic Apps, API Management)
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk API) and integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in working with JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, and webhooks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a small dev team, larger contract team, and broadly as a contributing member of our corporate professional services unit
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions
  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • A creative problem-solver with a passion for learning
  • Team-oriented and adaptable to quick pivots and changing priorities
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office 365 product suite with focus on Excel
  • Must have and maintain a Secret level clearance

Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • 4-year technical degree
  • Salesforce Certifications such as Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist, Platform Developer 1
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, GovCloud+ for Defense, Pardot, Mulesoft, Force.com IDE, Git, Public Sector Solutions, Tableau, Agentforce, Data Cloud
