Salary Range: $96,089 - $204,063


Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.


Location: Boston, Needham or Wakefield, MA




Purpose/Objective:



This role is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships with C&I Commercial clients. The position focuses on driving business growth through proactive client engagement, strategic portfolio oversight, and collaboration across internal business lines. The individual manages a portfolio of commercial customers with annual revenues typically ranging from $10MM to over $200MM, and borrowing needs of $3MM or more. The portfolio is medium in size and complexity, requiring a strong understanding of credit risk, financial performance, and tailored banking solutions.



In addition to portfolio management, the role involves active participation in business development efforts, including external calling, networking, and generating referrals to other areas of the bank. Success in this position depends on the ability to serve as a trusted advisor, deliver comprehensive financial solutions, and maintain high standards of client service and credit quality. Staying informed on market trends and regulatory developments is essential to providing relevant guidance and maintaining a competitive edge.



Key Accountabilities:




  • Customer Service: Provides excellent customer service to retain and expand existing relationships.
  • Customer Needs and Cross Sell: Identifies and understands customer needs. Demonstrates solid knowledge of banking products and services. Makes proactive recommendations and cross sells bank products. Has a good working relationship with all product partners.
  • New Business Development: Able to develop new business with assistance from manager and other team members as appropriate. Actively works to expand and develop Centers of Influence
  • Credit/Analytic Skills: Able to assess financial performance and risk including identifying ways to mitigate risk to the bank. Establishes a working relationship with Credit Partners to ensure ongoing credit quality of portfolio. Shows proven ability to adhere to sound risk management/pricing practices as well as to all internal and external credit/regulatory requirements.
  • Deal Structuring/Negotiation: Able to structure complex deals. Has solid negotiating skills. Able to review loan documentation and close loans with terms and conditions consistent with approvals.
  • Portfolio Management: Has good working relationship with Portfolio Managers, Commercial Loan Administrators, and Credit Partners to ensure proper management of portfolio including financial reporting, exception resolution, annual reviews and file memos.
  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.



Education:




  • BS Degree in Business, Economics or Finance, or equivalent financial experience



Experience:




  • 7+ years of Commercial Banking and/or related experience



Skills & Knowledge:




  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid loan structuring and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to effectively present to senior levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
  • Strong computer skills: data management & Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel)
