Job Summary: The Exec Director-Ancillary Svcs participates in strategic planning and implementation activities in support of the organization's mission, vision, and values. Responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned Ancillary Services departments within the hospital to ensure operational objectives and results are in accordance with overall hospital needs. Oversees services including Imaging, Radiation Medicine, Outpatient Therapies and others as assigned. Creates a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and customer population; participates in administrative on-call rotation. Implements and maintains authentic, constructive, and consistent mechanisms of communication within and among supervisors, administrators, physicians, and staff. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Master's Degree in health related field required. Minimum five years of management level experience in hospital or other health care related industry required.
Knowledge and Skills: Broad knowledge of quality, patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory requirements, medical staff structure, peer review and legal aspects of care. Knowledge of quality, performance improvement and patient safety programs that are data-driven and utilize tools such as the rapid cycle testing, Lean, and Six Sigma. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
