Ballard Spahr has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Legal Recruiting, adding value to the development of entry level and lateral recruiting and integration strategies for the Firm. The chosen candidate will oversee, and coordinate firm-wide activities related to lateral associates and select Counsel recruiting, onboarding, and integration. This position, along with other members of the Legal Talent Recruitment team, will be responsible for student recruiting, including the development of key law school relationships in various markets. This position offers a hybrid schedule and can be based out of any Ballard Spahr office. Preference will be given to candidates located in one of our Western offices.

Your Role:

In collaboration with the Director of Legal Recruiting, the Legal Talent Recruiting Team, the Partner in Charge of Attorney Career Advancement, and the Firmwide Hiring Partner(s), the Manager will:

  • Recruit and integrate the Firm's Associates, Attorneys and select Counsel, including Summer Associates.

  • Identify entry level and lateral recruiting needs and opportunities.

  • Source qualified candidates and coordinate the logistics of the recruiting and interview process.

  • Manage relationships with recruiters and recruiting firms engaged for lateral searches and market intelligence.

  • Provide support to the Firm's summer program as well as entry level and lateral onboarding, orientation and integration plans for new lawyers.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Legal Recruiting to create an inclusive talent pool for open positions.

  • Develop and maintain quality written recruiting materials and coordinate or draft external and internal communications, press releases, and events surrounding lateral attorney arrivals.

  • Keep up to date with market compensation and collaborate with team members to make recommendations related to compensation changes.

Required Experience:

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of relevant experience, with at least two years of experience in recruiting in a law firm or similar environment. Extensive knowledge of the lateral recruiting process in a law firm environment is preferred; a law degree is a plus.

The salary range for this position is from $135,000 - $165,000, which reflects the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
