Job Family Description

Project management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

Discipline Description

Construction coordination personnel collaborate with project managers on the development and review of project plans, estimates, costs, contracts, schedules, and resources. They develop and implement project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project scope, schedule, and cost objectives. They collect, analyze and report on project data and costs from various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction, and accounting).

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

* Serve as a member of the Construction team and provide support to Construction Manager for each project from inception to closeout and ensure the highest quality, most economical, timely, and practical design and construction product possible.
* Coordinate construction outage schedules, cost controls, priorities, and planning with Construction Management and plant schedulers to achieve successful project implementation.
* Resolve substantial quality control and quality assurance issues and recommend corrective action if necessary.
* Coordinate with Design Engineering for scheduling of complex design outputs and provides design with necessary input to resolve design changes and improve constructability.

* Promote increased productivity and safe work
practices with the intent of maximizing use of resources and eliminating injuries.
* Foster a "team concept" when interfacing
with Operations, the Department of Energy, other departments and divisions, and attend scheduled and unscheduled meetings, provide reports, status on construction activity and identify, address and resolve complex problems.
* Review and approve job plans, permits, material requisitions for capital expenditures, schedules / schedule changes and other miscellaneous documents ensuring accuracy practicality, economics and impact on other projects.
* Manage a staff of personnel assigned to capital projects and maintenance activities and attending to their development, training, evaluations, evaluations, career progression and problems.
* Identify and act on engineering and material restraints to critical jobs through meetings,
discussions, reports and verifies that proper tools are in place to clear restraints.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field.
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered.

10-15 years of experience.

* A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Construction Subcontract management and Construction Execution practices and principles.
* In-depth knowledge of construction, cost and scheduling, and the ability to develop or evaluate construction strategies and techniques.
* Knowledge and experience with managing construction subcontracts.
* Knowledge and experience working on DOE nuclear sites.
* Knowledge and experience with SRS capital projects.
* Experience identifying gaps in Field Conditions and Estimates/Design.
* Experience tracking and reporting installation progress/quantities.
* Experience supporting constructability reviews of proposed designs.
* Knowledge and experience in Construction Work Packages and Work Release procedures.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
