Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician I performs manufacturing and facility equipment preventative maintenance, installation and repairs as assigned. The tech will be assigned specific sets of machines for which responsibility is given to support all maintenance tasks related to preventive maintenance, upkeep and repair. To support facility work-orders initiated by Maintenance Management or Project Engineering Personnel. Essential responsibilities include:

  1. Must be able to work independently and complete work orders in a professional and timely manner.
  2. Coordinate with department owners to perform preventative maintenance as established in department procedures.
  3. Must have a basic understanding of equipment maintenance functions and knowledge of equipment troubleshooting.
  4. Must be able to work with interdisciplinary teams to identify problems, inefficiencies, recommend possible solutions and communicate potential problems when conflicts exist.
  5. Read and understand machine blue prints, including my machine drawings, P&ID diagrams, electrical drawings, schematics for pneumatic, gas supply, vacuum and high-pressure piping systems.
  6. Must have a basic understanding of DC, AC circuits and measuring techniques. May be required to provide low voltage (<480V) electrical assistance while providing support for equipment installations, maintenance work orders, etc.
  7. Responsible for understanding the proper use of engineering and maintenance documentation, which is required under cGMPs. Examples include the Maintenance Work Order System, the Critical Change System, SOP documentation, Validation documentation, etc.

Maintenance Technician II (In addition to the above ):

  1. Provide on call after hour and weekend support for facility and equipment related issues

Maintenance Technician III (In addition to the above ):

  1. Must be able to communicate this programing information to other technicians how to preform critical repairs
  2. Work as a lead mechanic assisting and training other technicians how to perform critical repairs.
  3. Provide technical leadership on critical repairs and new equipment installations as requested by the maintenance management staff.
  4. Provide mechanical support for sterilizers, lyophilizers, filling machines, air handlers, chillers, vial cappers, etc. Responsibilities include trouble shooting and repairs, performance of preventive maintenance, provide customer updates on critical repairs and changes when required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or Equivalent required. Associates of Science degree and/or Technical Certification desired.
  • Must be able to read and understand machine blue prints.
  • Mechanical Aptitude desired for a Tech I.
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience desired for Tech I.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, FDA, or other regulated industry desired.
  • Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel desired.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including overtime) required.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. unassisted required.
  • 20/30 near point corrected vision required
  • Working in Allergen, aseptic and confined areas required
  • Must be able to work in aseptic areas and confined spaces. Exposure to allergens. Job work will require the Technician to move throughout the facility on an as needed basis.

Maintenance Technician II (In addition to the above ):

  • 2 to 5 year(s) related experience required
  • Limited / Elementary Vocational skills required
  • Pushing, pulling and twisting required

Maintenance Technician III: (In addition to the above ):

  • Specific Coursework: PLC & Electronics desired
  • 10 + Years' experience in lieu of degree desired
  • 5-10 years related experience required
  • Lead experience desired
  • Advanced Vocational skills/specialized knowledge desired
  • Microsoft word experience required
  • Manual Dexterity required
  • Electrical/Mill-Right/ Machinist desired
  • Minimal travel <10% desired

Shift: Weekend days, Friday-Sunday E/O Thursday 6am-6pm

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

Hiring Wage:

  • Maintenance Technician I: $25.11- $33.96/hr depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
  • Maintenance Technician II: $27.90- $37.73/hr depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
  • Maintenance Technician III: $30.99 - $41.93/hr depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
    • Shift Differential pay is available for this position, and is determined by hours worked on selected shift.
