Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts, 01604

Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM


Job Description:

The Quality Control (QC) Technician will be responsible for performing microbiological testing and environmental monitoring (EM) to support product and material release. The role requires adherence to GMP standards, strong attention to detail, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microbiological test methods as written to support product/material release.
  • Conduct laboratory techniques with minimal error under GMP requirements.
  • Understand, implement, and maintain GMP in laboratory records, procedures, and systems.
  • Support investigation writers and approvers by gathering and analyzing data.
  • Write or revise laboratory procedures with appropriate guidance.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely completion of assigned duties.
  • Trend and analyze data to support QC reports.
  • Perform tasks under supervision while ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety and quality protocols.
  • Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and moving between the buildings as required.



Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Biology or related Life Science field is required.


  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of QC Microbiology experience in a GMP-regulated environment.
    • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and/or Environmental Monitoring (EM).
    • Experience with aseptic techniques and working in biosafety hoods preferred.


  • Technical Skills:

    • Experience entering data into LIMS systems preferred.
    • Familiarity with cGMP documentation and record maintenance.
    • Knowledge of cleanroom operations and gowning procedures is advantageous.


  • Core Competencies:

    • Strong attention to detail when performing assays, EM tasks, and data documentation.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules in a dynamic environment.
    • Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as required (pre-scheduled).





Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products (e.g., USP, EP, JP, ICH guidelines, cGMP).
  • Previous cleanroom experience and gowning certification.
  • Prior experience with trend analysis and data visualization tools.



Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable standing for most of the shift.
  • Requires movement between buildings on-site as part of daily duties.
