Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Worcester, MA, 01604

Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (Second Shift)


Job Description:

The Quality Control Technician will perform microbiological testing to support product and material release activities. The role involves executing laboratory techniques in compliance with GMP standards, maintaining detailed records, and supporting investigations and trending activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microbiological test methods to support product/material release with high accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP requirements in laboratory records, procedures, and systems.
  • Support investigation writers and approvers by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
  • Write or revise procedures under supervision.
  • Manage individual workload to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Trend data and generate reports to support quality monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.



Top Skills & Qualifications:

  • QC Microbiology Experience: Hands-on experience with lab testing and/or Environmental Monitoring (EM).
  • Aseptic Technique: Practical experience using aseptic techniques; experience in biosafety hoods preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and thoroughness while running assays and performing EM.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize workload and maintain precision in a fast-paced environment.
  • GMP Compliance: Perform tasks responsibly while adhering to cGMP requirements.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work weekends and holidays (pre-scheduled).
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships within and outside the department.
  • Adaptability: Capable of adjusting to new situations, shifting priorities, and meeting changing work demands.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable standing for most of the shift and moving between the buildings as required.



Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical regulations and standards (e.g., USP, EP, JP, ICH, cGMP).
  • GMP and/or cleanroom experience, including gowning procedures.
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), specifically data entry.
  • Familiarity with cGMP documentation and record maintenance practices.



Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related Life Science field (required).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in a QC Microbiology or related laboratory environment.
