Position Title: Senior Learning and Development Specialist

Work Location: Iselin, New Jersey, 08830

Assignment Duration: 3 Months (Possibility to extend or convert)

Work Schedule: 8-5 EST M-F - no ot/no weekends

Training Schedule: 8am-5pm m-f - classroom setting 7 days - 1on1 CAMERA ON FOR ALL TRAINING

Work Arrangement:

This is a hybrid position based in the office but can allow for work from home when training is not required. YES will need to go into the field to meet with members for master training certification Once training is complete it will be hybrid - home and office YES - Will need to go into the hub once a month for 4 days (not consecutive days) will have notice. Minimum requirement but need can increase. Will not be paid for travel - it is a hybrid position

Position Summary:

Trains, facilitates and assesses training programs for Clinical and Non-clinical staff in office and remote settings both in person and via e-learning platforms

Background & Context:



  • The purpose of this team is to train new and existing staff on New Jersey Care Management.
  • One of the main focuses of this position is to train the New Jersey Health Choice (NJHC).
  • In addition to training NJHC there are administrative tasks associated with the certification and frequent communication and collaboration with the state.
  • This is a collaborative work environment were teamwork is a requirement.
  • Day to day the facilitator will train NJHC to new hires in-person and virtually.
  • Facilitators will assist with submitting documents to the state for certification.
  • Facilitators will also assist in training other Care Management related tasks based on New Jersey needs.
  • Performance metrics are based on trainee feedback.
  • What is unique about this role is that they are a NJ Choice Master Trainer certified to train the state assessment and the role of the master trainer is instrumental to the functioning of our organization.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Designs, develops, and assesses instructional materials including training manuals, facilitation guides, teaching aids, assessments, training activities, role play scenarios, self-paced study and performance evaluation tools.
  • Employs a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training program
  • Conducts research for needs assessments and provides written complete detailed recommendations to Manager.
  • Manages group dynamics through the use of "learner focused" environment and adult accelerated learning methods.
  • Responsible for associate development including coaching associates to perform effectively
  • Reviews all programs assigned and continuously ensures they meet the rigorous standards that are set forth.
  • Produces professional presentations and training materials using MS Word, PowerPoint and other desktop publishing software.
  • Revises existing training materials and programs based on audit results, questionnaires, changing procedures and feedback from internal/ external customers, subject matter experts, program sponsors and trainers.
  • Coordinates and organizes enrollment of students, assembles necessary program materials, setup of classroom, and other functions related to University.
  • Schedules training programs and prepares training status reports, assessments and evaluation tools.
  • Leads and coordinates projects for the department.


Qualification & Experience:



  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Social work, public health, nursing, clinical social work,
  • Preferred: New Jersey Health Choice MASTER TRAINER Certification
  • Required: Registered Nurse
  • New Jersey Health Choice Certification
  • Preferred: New Jersey Health Choice MASTER TRAINER Certification
  • Years of experience required: 5+ years of relevant experience (LTSS care management)
  • Disqualifiers: Does not have New Jersey Choice Certification, must live in NJ
  • Additional qualities to look for:
  • Top 3 must-have hard skills stack-ranked by importance
