AI Solutions Engineer

Mazak Corporation's Software Development department is looking for an entry level AI Solutions Development Engineer. The AI Solutions Development Engineer will be a logical and deductive thinker who is eager to learn and capable of participating on a multi-disciplined team geared for the research and advancement of AI and process development projects. This includes development and deployment of machine learning, predictive analysis, and generative AI tools and solutions.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees

* Full life cycle support (development, testing, documentation, and tech support) of internal development projects

* Custom and automation solutions for Mazak end users with an overall vision and goal to always enhance and improve the machining process and overall solution.

* Communicate effectively and calmly with a diverse group of individuals on various projects.

* Stay up-to-date with latest industry and AI trends, reporting findings and research to management.

* Thorough documentation of process and procedures.

Education/Certification:

* BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, or related field is required.

* Masters degree in machine learning/Data science preferred.

Skills:

* Proficiency in Python and common ML libraries including but not limited to TensorFlow and PyTorch

* Proficient skills in API development and troubleshooting code

* Proficient experience with communication protocols MTConnect, OPCUA, MQTT, Modbus

* Experience with time-series analysis and predictive maintenance concepts such as feature extraction from sensor data and signal processing basics.

* Proficiency in data wrangling (Pandas, SQL) and basic deployment (DOCKER, Rest API)

* Familiar with cutting tools, parts processing on machine tools and industry terms is preferred

* Experience with cloud-based ML services and ML Ops tools

* 1-4 years of hands-on experience with ML/AI workflows OR demonstrated projects

* Excellent communication skills

* Strong presentation and documentation skills
