Responsibilities

Palo Verde Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Manager - Performance Improvement. This position will be part of the facility management team!

The Manager of Performance Improvement is responsible for directing and monitoring the facility-wide quality management assessment and quality performance improvement program, ensuring the facility programs are in compliance with all regulatory agencies (TJC, AHCCCS, and other State and Federal agencies.

Responsibilities include:

1. In collaboration with CEO, provide a broad vision in the continuous development and direction of quality management and quality improvement programs for the facility.

  1. Provide direction and consultation to all staff members on the concepts of Total Quality Management (TQM) and the use of total quality management tools in the application to patient care.
  2. Assist senior staff and directors in the development of department specific programs and quality measures which are within the standards of TJC, AHCCCS, HCFA, OSHA regulations and all other applicable federal, state or local law/regulations governing health-care entities.
  3. In collaboration with CEO, develop a facility-wide performance improvement plan which meets or exceeds all regulatory standards and develop performance measurement indicators.
  4. Provide continuous support in the analysis of performance improvement goals and objectives, re-establishing requirements which will facilitate continuous improvement.
  5. Review the results of performance improvement requirements with each department director, define performance improvement requirements for the department and involve other departments/services in the problem-solving process when situations span over more than one department.
  6. Establish a system for collecting and analyzing statistical data relating to performance improvement measures.
  7. Ensure any detected deficiency in meeting quality improvement goals and objectives is addressed with appropriate management in a timely manner.

9. Gather information from medical staff regarding medical staff reporting functions (i.e. drug usage, evaluation, pharmacy, and therapeutics, infection control, utilization review, quality improvement, safety and risk management and medical records review).

  1. Conduct quality improvement meetings on a regular basis to develop and continuously encourage a facility-wide team effort in meeting quality improvement efforts.

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PVBH has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work or related behavioral health field preferred.

Minimum Experience: Two (2) -Four (4) years experience in quality management/improving organizational performance, preferably within an acute psychiatric treatment setting.

Preferred Experience: N/A.

Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of TJC, AHCCCS, HCFA, OSHA and Patient Rights standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
