Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The new state-of-the-art hospital will join UHS' growing regional network of healthcare operations which includes Wellington Regional Medical Center, the ER at Westlake (an extension of Wellington Regional Medical Center), Wellington Physicians Urgent Care and other healthcare services and access points. The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification in Computer Maintenance/Service (A+) and two to five years of prior experience preferably in a healthcare environment.

Must have strong customer service skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Skills:

• Thorough understanding of Joint Commission standards, NPSGs, state and federal standards, Value-Based Purchasing Initiatives, Core Measures, and HCAHPS.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of PI methodology and Outcome Management. Proficient with Root Cause Analysis methodology.
• Expert knowledge of health and safety management strategies, quality assurance, quality improvement and continuous improvement methodologies and tools. Knowledge of healthcare facility operations, functions, and staffing requirements.
• Knowledge of medical/professional staff by-laws and governing board issues.
• Knowledge of insurance and loss control theory and practice in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles and procedures for the investigation and processing of professional liability/ medical malpractice claims.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge Microsoft Office products and Cerner (preferred).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Role and Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing repairs, upgrades, moves, installation and maintenance of information systems hardware, including terminals, printers, computers, peripherals, ups, faxes and telephone equipment. The Technician also assists the users with the general operation of their computer/office equipment, performs hardware upgrades, install operating systems, installs new software and software upgrades. The Computer technician will also analyze and recommend, as needed: equipment, hardware and software replacement or upgrades. This position provides problem tracking, resolution and continual education to facility employees and physicians as well as ongoing technical support and maintenance of information systems equipment throughout the hospital.
