Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (occasional overtime required)
Compensation: $18.00-$18.50 per hour
Status: Non-Exempt / Non-Exclusive

Position Summary

The Pre-Production Clerk is responsible for accurately reviewing, processing, and maintaining prescription (Rx) orders to ensure timely and error-free workflow throughout the lab. This role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and process Rx orders according to established procedures.

  • Make necessary corrections to Rx orders and communicate updates or questions to origin labs via phone or email.

  • Monitor and respond to warning messages on the data entry screen.

  • Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into the system following on-screen formats and coding requirements.

  • Verify accuracy by comparing entered data against source documents.

  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure all materials are properly handled.

  • Print Rx tickets, fold them, and place them in the appropriate job trays.

  • Move job trays to the next production station and return used trays to the lens preproduction area.

  • Communicate with other HOYA labs regarding Rx order corrections or job status inquiries.

  • Answer inbound calls from HOYA labs and provide updates or assistance as needed.

  • Perform end-of-day close-down procedures and archive work as assigned.

  • Recalculate Rx jobs or send them to the server when necessary.

  • Send daily reports and communications to management and lab teams.

  • Cross-train and assist in other areas of the lab when required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Capable of understanding and interpreting basic job work tickets.

  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed.
