Brief Description: The Lab Technician 3 plays a pivotal role at NexTier by performing verifiable quality assurance tests on company products, preparing laboratory reports, and demonstrating strong leadership abilities in managing projects and laboratory operations. This position operates under the guidance of the Lab Manager and may assume responsibilities in their absence. Detailed Description:
- Exhibit leadership skills in coordinating and managing laboratory projects. This includes planning, organizing, and overseeing project tasks to meet objectives efficiently.
- Performs complex quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid additives to verify fluid design. Both in laboratory and field settings.
- Performs additive selection and design of advanced stimulation and cementing fluids.
- Prepares, operates, maintains, and calibrates equipment in the laboratory in accordance with company standards.
- Documents laboratory results and reviews.
- Performs pre-test and pre-job tasks needed in preparation for providing analytical support to actual operations. Preparation of presentations for internal technical "lunch and learns".
- 100% Responsible for the disposal of laboratory waste according to local, state, and federal guidelines as well as adhering to company policies.
- Performs additive selection and design of advanced stimulation and cement fluids.
- Documents and reports laboratory data related to field testing of innovative technology.
- Develop and implement procedural and process improvement plans within the laboratory.
- Mentor trainees and junior personnel in laboratory operations and procedures.
- Attends periodical safety and operations improvement meetings and participates in the location quality improvement meetings and location quality improvement plans.
- Develops highly advanced laboratory operational and technical understanding of both Stimulation and Cementing.
- Interfaces with Research and Technology executing new products to the field.
- Field assignments and visits may be needed to support field operations.
- Manages and updates spill control, chemical release, and evacuation plans according to regional QHSE, public responders, and city local regulations.
- Tracks and maintains spare parts, within the allocated budget allotted.
- Facilitates and assists in QHSE investigations.
Job Requirements:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and oversee laboratory projects.

- Proficient computer skills (MS Office 365 suite), and general record keeping.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7 years of proven experience in quality assurance testing within a laboratory environment is required.
- Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.
- Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.

- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Working Conditions Work is primarily in a climate-controlled area with health hazard potential.
