What you'll do

We are seeking a talented and experienced technical leader to join the innovative VGOV Engineering organization as the lead of the Integrated Circuit engineering team. This team includes RFIC Engineers, MMIC Engineers, Packaging Engineering, IC Probe, and IC Layout professionals.

You will be responsible for:

  • People Management: Overseeing Performance, Development & Reward (PD&R) and
    fostering engagement
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Acting as an IC technical lead on projects and taking on IC design tasks when necessary
    • Supporting business development through proposal creation
    • Developing technical roadmaps aligned with business requirement
  • Resource Management: Ensuring resources possess the appropriate skills and knowledge
    to meet business needs
  • Financial Accountability: Adhering to operating budgets, including indirect expenses
  • Operational Budget Alignment: Driving towards meeting operational budgets, particularly indirect spending targets
  • Decision Optimization: Making choices that is good for the engineers, good for the product/program teams and good for the government business

The day-to-day

  • Technical Contributions: Take on the role of technical lead and/or design engineer, support business development with proposals, and be a strong technical resource for engineers and product/program teams
  • Leadership and Management: Leading a dispersed team of high-caliber engineers and engineering managers, ensuring the development of skills and competencies to meet current and future commitments
  • Organizational Design: Contributing to ongoing Development Engineering organizational design adjustments as
    VGOV evolve
  • Staffing and Hiring: Meeting IC design, packaging, and IC prober staffing needs by finding suitable internal
    candidates and supporting external recruiting efforts
  • Engineering Maturity and Process Improvement: Promoting the continuous improvement of engineering processes in line with industry best practices
  • Performance Management: Ensuring effective performance management and recognition across the team
  • Career Development & Mentoring: Setting clear expectations for engineers and managers, supporting engineers in career and technical growth, and mentoring managers and engineers

What you'll need

  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering field
  • Proficiency in working with advanced RF, phase-array, V-band, and space electronics
  • Hands-on experience in RF/analog and mixed-signal design using CMOS, SiGe, and/or GaN technologies
  • The ability to think strategically, and turn strategy into actions that deliver meaningful results
  • Location: Onsite in Tempe, AZ

What will help you on the job

  • Experience working with semiconductor foundry's
  • Experience with IC design tools such as Cadence, ADS, and HFSS
  • Circuit design experience such as: mixers, VGAs, VCOs, PLLs, LNAs, DACs etc
  • Analytical mindset with a knack for using data to drive informed decisions
  • Absolute integrity and trustworthiness

Salary range

$199,000.00 - $314,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $247,000.00- $370,000.00/ annually
