The candidate will be involved in all areas of embedded systems and circuit design, from following an architecture and inputting requirements to development / functional implementation (including circuit layout). Designs will be simulated/evaluated for functional performance, signal integrity, and power supply sensitivity, and integrated into the final product by interfacing with RF, Digital, and Software design teams. These teams may be within the local design center or other Nokia design centers around the world. You will participate in analysis and solving complex engineering problems.

  • Contribute to general PWB (Printed Wiring Board) design by placing components, routing signals, and performing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) checks in collaboration with the broader design team to support product development. Responsibilities may include schematic entry, layout execution based on design engineer guidance, board release activities, and responding to fabrication-related engineering inquiries.
  • Typical daily tasks include initial component placement and signal routing, generating design variants, updating board versions, conducting DFM checks, and preparing documentation required for board release.
  • Actively participate in PWB design reviews and maintain regular communication with program managers to report progress and support project milestones.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple design engineers across different areas of the project to ensure alignment and successful execution of design goals.
  • For candidates with an interest in process improvement, there is potential to explore automation opportunities within the board design workflow.

You have:

  • Associate degree or two-year technical diploma in a related field, with proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with digital and RF circuit layout techniques; experience with Mentor/Expedition tools is a plus.
  • Self-driven and proactive in acquiring PCB layout tool expertise, with the ability to apply knowledge independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude and strong collaboration skills; able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate progress clearly.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus on project schedules and delivering on time.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to plan and organize tasks.
  • Technical leadership potential is a plus.
  • Adept Problem Solver
  • Ability to travel internationally at short notice if needed (travel overall expected to be less than 10% of the time)
