Description The Service Advisor is responsible for supporting all branch Service Department personnel through detailed handling of a variety of administrative duties including handling incoming calls, producing quotations and estimates, opening and closing work orders, adjusting time on work orders, dispatching Field Service Technicians, assigning jobs to Shop Technicians, training/mentoring less experienced Technicians, and other duties not specified. Essential Responsibilities & Expectations Handle incoming phone calls to the branch Produce quotations and estimates Take and deliver messages to branch personnel Effectively communicate with Service Department Personnel to address customer needs Assign jobs to Shop Technicians & Dispatch Field Service Technicians Open and properly segment Work Orders applying correct codes and tax information Handle closing of Work Orders in a timely fashion Adjust Service Technician time when necessary Obtain Purchase Orders from customers as required Responsible for charging his/her time to work orders Uphold the Core Values of Safe & Secure, Stronger Together, People of Integrity, & Driven to Serve. Qualifications Education High School diploma or the equivalent required. Experience Experience working as a Service Technician preferred. Experience using personal computers including Microsoft Word and Excel and basic typing skills are required for this position Skills and Competencies Telephone / verbal / written communication skills Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Strong technical / equipment repair skills Job Training Microsoft Word and Excel (basic and intermediate skills) Supervisory skills training Business communication skills training OSHA & MSHA required training Vendor technical sites (Infocast, SIMSi, Independent Truck Network SharePoint site) Compliance training Safety Summary Working Conditions Work is typically performed in a Service Department shop office or shop environment. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required. Physical Requirements Ability to speak, listen, write and type effectively. Ability to safely grasp, stoop, kneel, and climb as required by the position. Ability to safely lift up to 75lbs as required by the position. Ability to safely crawl on and under heavy equipment as required by the position.
