Job Summary:
The Division of Rehabilitation Medicine within the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to join our faculty to assume a leadership role as the Section Chief of Inpatient PM&R. The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UW-Madison is comprised of 13 faculty, 9 advanced practice providers, 10 residents and 2 fellows within the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, which includes 61 faculty and 50 advanced practice providers in 8 subspecialty divisions/sections, 8 fellows across 5 fellowship programs and 40 residents between 2 residency programs. The division enjoys strong collaborative relationships with faculty in the Department of Pediatrics Division of Developmental Pediatrics & Rehabilitation Medicine. The Inpatient Section of PM&R is rapidly growing, particularly through the building and operation of a second joint venture (with UW Health, UnityPoint Health - Meriter and Lifepoint Rehabilitation) free-standing 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital within Dane County, which will bring the overall capacity to 90 inpatient beds between both facilities. Significant growth opportunity also includes inpatient PM&R consultation services at UW Health hospitals and UnityPoint Health-Meriter. Additional programmatic growth opportunities within stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and general neurorehabilitation also exist.
