Job Summary:
The UW-Madison Police Department (UWPD) is hiring Security Officers. UWPD Security Officers complete security and safety checks on institutional property by vehicle patrol, foot patrol, and bicycle patrol or at a fixed location. This position responds to emergency situations, assists with safety and security investigations, and accurately documents activities according to established policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Additional responsibilities include assisting with routine unit administrative operational activities; Engaging in problem solving and community engagement with security issues; Providing assistance with shift operations, administrative functions, special events, specialized assignments and projects. Because of the nature of their roles, Security Officers are expected to excel at working independently and within a team.
UW-Madison Police Department Compensation:Minimum: $23.00 HOURLY Night & Weekend Differential: UWPD offers a $2.50/hr night differential for all hours worked between 6:00pm - 6:00am and a $2.00/hr weekend differential for all hours worked between 12:001am - 12:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. These differentials are layered, so when working a weekend night, you will receive both.
