Description

As a Certified Educator Candidate, you'll provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff while completing a multi-year training program to become an ACPE Certified Educator. Working under the guidance of ACPE Certified Educators, you'll gain hands-on experience leading Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs and mentoring CPE students.

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a fully certified ACPE Certified Educator through supervised teaching, reflection, and professional development.

Salary Range: $29.17-56.37/hr

Qualifications

  • Graduate level theological degree from CHEA-member accredited school
  • 4 units of ACPE-certified CPE
  • 2 years Spiritual care skills and experience.
  • Faith Group Endorsement
  • Board Certifed Chaplain Preferred (APC, NACC, NAJC, NAVAC)
  • Skill in supervising ACPE students.
  • Skill and ability in organizing, developing, maintaining, evaluating and creating ACPE certified programs.
  • Ability to respond sensitively to persons of various religious, social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds so as to respond to persons in a caring compassionate way.
  • Ability to work collegially and under supervision to provide a cohesive and effective spiritual care department and ACPE training program.
  • Skill in encouraging and supporting individuals on a personal, caring basis by creating pastoral relationship emerging from personal or small group settings.
  • Skill in motivating others and stimulating them to carry out an effective inter-faith spiritual care program.
  • Skill in leadership, design, and creativity of religious services.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and ethical issues that arise in relation to the field.
  • Ability to work collegially with and to appreciate community religious leaders and their gifts to spiritual care in the hospital context.
  • Ability to be organized, responsible, and dependable.
  • Openness and interest in learning new skills and abilities in hospital chaplaincy and ACPE Certified Educator training.
  • Bilingual candidate desired
