Overview

VTG is seeking a talented and experienced Platform Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Chantilly, VA.


What will you do?

  • As a Systems Engineer on this program, you will design, develop, and implement reliable, robust, and resilient systems used by software development teams.

  • The Platform Engineer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers, cybersecurity engineers, database administrators, and system architects.

  • Applicants for this position are expected to have significant, hands-on systems engineering experience.

  • This role delivers an innovative product, service, or a combination of products and services that address a customer's specific requirements

  • Support the development of enterprise software solutions within the customer's cloud environments.

  • This role provides execution guidance and practical engineering support to mission teams


Do you have what it takes?

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • BS degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Must have experience with cloud providers such as AWS
  • Experience in Platform engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Working with the team's security engineer to address and mitigate security findings stemming from system security scans
  • Performing regular maintenance of cloud infrastructure resources, to include patching, configuration, upgrading as needed
  • Experience interacting with cross functional project teams including Software Development System Engineering, Security Compliance, and Quality Assurance
  • Demonstratable, working experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, GitHub Actions), Kubernetes, containers, or serverless is strongly preferred.
