| The We're looking for a visionary who can leverage the strength of dozens of college sports markets, including USA TODAY, to create repeatable audience and revenue growth within the nation's largest news organization. This is a big job that demands commitment to excellence through accountability. The ability to create clarity through leadership is required to steer our talented teams of college writers to unrealized heights. The candidate will innovate at the speed of news, working closely with direct supervisors to evolve strategies founded in relentless relevance and champion-level journalism. Helping envision experiences that drive consistent incremental revenue growth and reader retention is also part of the role. The role will directly oversee college coverage at USA TODAY, including everything from quick-hitting news to deeply reported enterprise, commentary, analysis and anticipatory journalism. The candidate also will work with sports editors across the enterprise, including local properties, to strategically grow college audience and revenue at scale. The candidate who fills this role will be an engine for ideation who can mobilize journalists to maximize results and be a steadying presence who leads with precision in a volatile college landscape. This is a salaried role, reporting directly to the Executive Editor of Sports for Gannett. Remote candidates in all states except Alaska & Hawaii are welcome to apply. Responsibilities:
