The Director Sterile Administrative responsibility and accountability for the management and direction of the operational, personnel, financial, and marketing activities of the department. Primary Duties:

  • Leads Sterile Processing operations, overseeing staff selection, training, performance management, and professional development to ensure a highly skilled and engaged team.
  • Directs day-to-day departmental functions, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory standards while maintaining the highest quality and safety outcomes.
  • Develops and implements processes to drive OR efficiency, including first-case start times, equipment and supply availability, cost reduction, and alignment with system contracts.
  • Oversees sterilization, assembly, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and instrumentation in collaboration with Infection Prevention, Risk Management, and Operating Room leadership.
  • Manages departmental resources and reporting systems, leveraging dashboards and data analysis to improve accountability, optimize supply chain functions, and support patient care excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Healthcare related field Required.
  • Master's degree in health services administration, Business, or related field Preferred.
  • 8-10 years with 3 years progressive Sterile Processing, Administrative & clinical experience Required.
  • 5-7 years in an acute care hospital setting Required.
  • Experience equivalency One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $152,027
