Position Summary:

The Family Support Lead works in partnership with the site management team to encourage and plan for parent participation in the ECEAP and Early ECEAP program. The Family Support Lead position will adhere to and be guided by the ECEAP and Early ECEAP Program Standards, Service Plans, and the principles of best practice in the field of family support. Position is responsible for supervising the ECEAP and Early ECEAP family support staff and provide technical assistance to assist in specific matters or to correct compliance deficiencies.

Responsibilities:

Provide recruitment, intake and enrollment according to ECEAP standards.



  • The Family Support Lead is responsible to identify and recruit eligible ECEAP participants into the program and to maintain an effective caseload to meet program requirements.
  • Organizes and conducts year-round recruitment to ensure full enrollment in the ECEAP program.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director to create an annual recruitment plan.
  • Facilitate daily case management reviews with ECEAP family support staff
  • Collaborate with PAT, Play and Learn groups for collaborative recruitment events.
  • Facilitate and plan for monthly recruitment events at local CSO offices


Engage parents in the services offered through ECEAP.



  • In collaboration with site management staff, organize and conduct parent orientation according to ECEAP performance standards
  • Ensure all Health Screenings are completed according to ECEAP performance standards
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director, plan and facilitate family events that respond to specific training interest and information requests as indicated on a Parent Interest Survey or though other parent input throughout the year.
  • Works with the Associate Director to facilitate ECEAP policy council requirements according to Performance Standards.


Mobility Mentoring Performance Standards and ECEAP contract requirements.



  • Trained in ECEAP Mobility Mentoring and ensures training for assigned family support staff.
  • Act as Family Support Mobility Mentoring Lead according to ECEAP performance standards.
  • Provide mobility mentoring training to all family support staff prior to implementation of Mobility Mentoring.


Track and monitor family support staff professional development according to ECEAP performance standards.

Provide family needs assessments and goals according to ECEAP performance standards

Provide family support visits to assigned caseload according to ECEAP Performance Standards



  • Document all visits in ELMS
  • Family Visit content is based on ECEAP and Early ECEAP performance standards.


Utilize the Washington State ELMS system according to ECEAP Performance Standards



  • Maintains accurate records including enrollment information, family resource checklist, documentation of referrals made and follow up and adult contact hours according to ECEAP program standards
  • Assists the Regional Program Coordinator and Early Learning Program Manager with the ELMS monthly report and reviews for accuracy.


Collaborate with teacher, mental health consultant and other ECEAP providers to provide optimal care and transition.



  • Contributes to the development of positive communication, mutual respect, mutual support, competence and creativity among all members of the ECEAP staff.
  • Works collaboratively with center mental health professional in addressing mental health issues of the enrolled children and their families.
  • Works with families and site management team to ensure smooth transitions for children and families to before and after school care and between ECEAP and kindergarten.
  • Participates in monthly Yakima Valley ECEAP Partners Health Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Conducts monthly supervision meetings with supervisees.
  • Participates in monthly supervision meetings with assigned supervisor.


Staffing



  • Takes lead in coordinating monthly child & family staffing's for childcare classrooms at Growing Hope and Carroll Children's Center.


Systems, Policies, Procedures & Service Plans



  • Assist in development and implementation of component area systems, policies and procedures. Participate in the review and edit of the annual service plans for the agency.


Professional Development



  • Shows interest in furthering professional growth by attending staff meetings, workshops, trainings and seminars according to ECEAP performance standards.


Confidentiality



  • Maintains confidentiality of program and clients related information at all times.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position. Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring medium physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 60% of the time. In addition, approximately 40% of the time may include lifting and carrying children, moving quickly around the room to maintain appropriate supervision and safety and sitting on the floor or in small chairs with the group.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education



  • Associate or higher degree with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits in adult education, human development, human services, family support, social work, early childhood education, child development, psychology or another field directly related to their job responsibilities. These 30 credits may be included in the degree or in addition to the degree: or on a DCYF approved professional development plan


Experience



  • Two years' experience working with caregivers and at-risk children


Special Skills



  • Possess strong behavioral management skills
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of child abuse and neglect issues, home visiting, parenting skills training, mental health and community resources
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with referral sources
  • Complete accurate paperwork in a timely manner
  • Basic computer proficiency


Licensure, Registration, Certification



  • Valid First Aid and CPR cards
  • Valid Food Handler's card
  • Valid WA driver's license, and minimum liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities insurance liability provider


Employment is conditional upon:



  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required



Wage Range: $24.00 to $28.00, depending on experience

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm
