About the Position Are you a creative communicator passionate about making a meaningful impact in your community? As a Communications Officer, you will lead the creation and management of the Recorder's Office digital and video communications. In this role, you'll produce and edit video and photography, develop graphic design materials, and translate and deliver accurate bilingual (Spanish) messaging to ensure accessibility for all residents. You will also help manage press releases, social media, and internal communications, maintaining consistent branding and clear information across all platforms. This position plays a critical role in helping the Recorder's Office engage and inform Maricopa County residents about recording services, elections, and voter registration. About Us The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for recording all documents required by law and making them available for public record. MCRO oversees the voter registration process, documentation, and administration for the County's approximately 2.5 million voters. We Require
One year of professional communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design/Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis Strong bilingual communication (English & Spanish), including written and verbal skills
Other Requirements
Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must be eligible to vote in Arizona and pass an applicable background screening

Working Conditions
Work primarily occurs in a business office setting but requires frequent travel to other office sites and event locations where weather conditions may vary Ability to move objects lifting floor to waist (up to 25 pounds) and pushing/pulling (up to 50 pounds) Occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required
