A Day in the Life

The Senior Data Analyst drives data-informed decision-making by defining and tracking metrics and KPIs, partnering with senior leadership, and promoting business intelligence across the firm. This technical role bridges business and IT, designing data assets, leading reporting and dashboard development, and guiding data governance. As a product owner, the analyst leads the lifecycle of data products and empowers nontechnical users through training and enablement.

A typical day as a Senior Data Analyst might include the following:

  • Identifies data sources to understand workflows and measure effectiveness, with a focus on automation and customer satisfaction-especially through AI and agentic solutions.
  • Partners with Data Engineering to contribute to data modeling and mapping, ensuring documentation aligns with production assets and is accessible to nontechnical users.
  • Defines metrics and KPIs tied to business objectives, leveraging reports and data to baseline performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develops proof-of-concept data models and BI assets to address reporting gaps and inform scalable strategies.
  • Evaluates new data project proposals for strategic alignment and ROI.
  • Owns and executes data governance and security practices.
  • Acts as a liaison between business teams and technical teams, serving as a data product owner to bridge enterprise repositories with specialized assets.
  • Leads user acceptance testing and encourages end-user engagement in solution validation.
  • Delivers training and educational sessions to upskill nontechnical collaborators on the data stack.
  • Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
  • Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • Partnering with stakeholders across complex organizations to drive data initiatives through full lifecycle development.
    • Serving in technical roles on data and analytics teams, with deep involvement in metric definition, KPI development, goal tracking, and data cataloging.
    • Developing in business intelligence tools and applying analytics technologies-preferably within the Microsoft technology stack (Fabric, Power BI, Dataverse).
    • Leading as a presenter and product owner to upskill and educate large, diverse workforces on modern cloud data tools and low/no-code citizen development.
    • Utilizing data exploration tools and query languages including SQL, DAX, and Python.
  • You have prior experience with Agile/Scrum Development Methodology and working in sprints or iterative release cycles.
  • You have well-rounded knowledge of business processes and performance metrics of varying business functions, such as Finance, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Product, Services, and Customer Experience.
  • You have strong technical background and awareness of existing and emerging technologies, architectures, and best practices: Star Schema, Medallion Data Architecture, Pub-Sub Data Governance, Least Privilege and Zero-Trust Data Security models.
  • You have working knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, Peer Code Review, and Parameterized development practices.
  • You have demonstrated collaborative, influential, and grounded communication skills to gain buy-in and commitment towards action from analytics outputs and results.
  • You can strategically identify business problems and recommend solutions from data-driven insights.
  • You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • You can work independently and in a team environment.
  • You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • You can work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and using various software packages.

Compensation

$95,000-$130,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
