MTSI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Training Device Program Manager to lead the development, delivery, and lifecycle management of training devices and systems for an advanced air platform program. This role includes overseeing the creation of high-fidelity devices that simulate platform maintenance tasks, ensuring alignment with program requirements and mission objectives. The ideal candidate will have both technical expertise in training systems and proven experience managing complex programs in aerospace or defense environments.
Responsibilities
  • Program Management:
  • Manage all aspects of the Maintenance Training Device program, including planning, resource allocation, budget oversight, and milestone delivery.
  • Ensure program alignment with technical specifications, customer requirements, and mission objectives for cutting-edge air platforms.
  • Training Device Development:
  • Oversee the design, development, and integration of high-fidelity maintenance training devices that simulate advanced platforms' support systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure devices accurately replicate maintenance tasks, workflows, and subsystem functionality.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Liaise with customers, program managers, and technical teams to manage requirements, deliverables, and performance expectations.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and instructional designers, to ensure devices meet training standards.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor program staff, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence in program execution.
  • Drive cross-functional team coordination to meet program requirements and overcome challenges.
  • System Integration and Testing:
  • Manage the integration of hardware and software for maintenance training devices, ensuring compatibility with air platform systems.
  • Oversee test, validation, and certification procedures to guarantee performance, reliability, and compliance with DoD standards.
  • Lifecycle Management:
  • Ensure sustainment and upgrade planning for training devices to accommodate evolving platform capabilities and customer needs.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps for device deployment, training support, and program scalability.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure the program adheres to DoD standards, including cybersecurity (RMF frameworks), and system engineering guidelines (MIL-STD specifications).
  • Provide regular status reports to stakeholders, including cost and schedule updates, risk assessments, and technical reviews.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Instructional Design, Project Management, or related technical field.
  • 12+ years of program management experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or advanced training systems development.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, hardware and software integration, and training device lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to manage technical teams, schedules, budgets, and risks for complex programs.
  • Familiarity with advanced air platform systems, including avionics, propulsion, and sensor subsystems, and their maintenance practices.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
Desired
  • 15+ years of program management experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or advanced training systems development.
  • Certifications that validate expertise in program management, systems engineering, and training systems:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional): Demonstrates advanced skills in program planning and execution.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP): Reflects proficiency in systems integration and lifecycle management.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification: Applies process improvement techniques to streamline program workflows.
  • CompTIA Security+ or CISSP: Foundational certifications for managing programs integrating secure technology systems.
  • Certified Modeling & Simulation Professional (CMSP): Applicable for training device development and simulation-based systems.
  • Certified Defense Instructional System Designer (ISD): Validates expertise in creating effective training and instructional programs.
  • Knowledge of DoD testing standards, including MIL-STD-810 (environmental testing) and MIL-HDBK-516C (airworthiness certification).
  • Experience reviewing or developing technical manuals, instructional systems, or interactive training tools for complex platforms.
  • Expertise in managing software development lifecycles for training systems.
