TIG Welder

Scope of Position:

This focused individual, as part of the production department will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding different parts and subassemblies to create components or products for stainless steel drains. Must be able to calculate extremely close tolerances to machine work.

This position reports to the Sheet Metal Supervisor. This role is onsite in Fort Worth Texas.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using GTAW, Weld subassemblies and components with and without filler metal addition.
  • Lay out parts and subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Inspect all welds for accuracy and complete repairs as needed.
  • Cleans and inspects equipment to maintain functionality; reports repairs as needed.
  • Uses fit up fixtures for welding.
  • Applies standard procedures according to operating policy and adheres to safety protocols. Keeps track of safety issues and notifies appropriate individuals.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Sheet Metal Supervisor.
  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)
  • Travel Requirements: [insert percentage and any relevant information regarding travel to certain sites/locations, as applicable]

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1+) year welding experience in GTAW process
  • Able to accurately read a tape measure and conduct mathematical calculations and measurements for cutting accuracy.
  • Ability to read blueprint instructions, welding symbols, diagrams, and other printed instructions.
  • Familiar with a variety of welding concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to apply standard procedures according to operating policy ad adheres to safety protocols.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Fort Worth, Texas location. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
