The Inside Sales Outlook/VMI Technician position provides and connects customers with medical, industrial, specialty gases, welding equipment, hard goods and tools. In addition, this role manages and supports deliveries or services of key vending account customers and customer cabinets / storerooms relative to inventory of gases, consumables and safety products. This position partners with customers to address inquiries and provide solutions for either walk-in or call in customers. The VMI portion of this position focuses on nurturing relationships with existing accounts throughout an assigned territory. Additionally, this position assesses and resolves basic technical and mechanical needs as they arise.

  • Partners with customers to identify products and merchandise through welcoming and engaging both walk-in and telephone call-in clients.
  • Manages and maintains sales and quote data within the computer application system to provide accurate information and research for customers.
  • Aligns with and supports all administrative and accounting-related procedures regarding payments and services sold.
  • Provides collaborative warehouse support, assisting with shipping and receiving, restocking inventory, and proficiently utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Assesses and resolves basic technical needs for mechanical systems while confirming that pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety items are in excellent working order.
  • Confirms and supports that all vehicle manifests, labeling, and loads align with regulatory guidelines (DOT, FDA, OSHA) and Airgas safety standards.
  • Ensures all safety rules are prioritized and upheld, fostering a safe working environment where procedures for cylinder handling and daily operations are consistently followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Welding Technology or Sales.
  • We are looking for approximately 2 years of product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valuable experience or a solid foundation in gas, welding and safety supply industry with retail experience preferred.
  • SAP experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with, or a readiness to develop knowledge in, MIG, TIG, and STICK WELDING preferred.
  • Experience utilizing a forklift, or an eagerness to cross-train, is an asset.
