What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Wealth Management and help shape RBC's future!

As a Sustainability & Strategy Manager within the Strategy, Products & Digital Investing, you will support RBC's Investments teams and client-facing Advisors globally in Responsible Investing matters relating to using ESG data in portfolio construction, security selection, and the provision of timely market insights.

Additionally, you will support the Strategy team through the development and delivery of the global Wealth Management segment initiatives. You will deliver insights and advice on key strategic issues, identify opportunities and threats for Wealth Management through research and qualitative/quantitative analysis.

What will you do?

  • Interact with Portfolio Advisory Group as well as RBC advisors on a day-to-day basis on questions surrounding responsible investing and ESG concepts.

  • Understand and utilize ESG data from various ESG data providers on several different investment types.

  • Support strategy development deliverables at the Wealth Management segment level and individual business line level, including research, analysis, financial modeling and preparing materials and strategic recommendations to facilitate Senior Management Team discussions

  • Coordinate and provide inputs on strategy-related content for various enterprise requests, including but not limited to: Investor Relations requests (e.g., quarterly earnings prep), annual report, ESG report, Credit Rating Agency reviews, executive prep for analyst calls or external conferences, Board updates and internal leadership presentations

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of various industry award submissions for WM

  • Identify and develop new opportunities to deliver greater value to clients and RBC WM by staying on top of market / client trends, sharing best practices in processes and analytical frameworks, and bringing the outside in (e.g., understanding competitor strategies, looking outside our industry to discover new ideas)

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Basic understanding and desire to learn more about ESG data and responsible investing

  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen around business and client trends and value drivers with financial modeling experience

  • Proven ability to communicate with senior executives as well as build and present complex presentations

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders

Nice-to-have

  • 1 - 2 years of experience working in the Responsible Investing, ESG, impact, or sustainable investing space

  • Experience in management consulting that includes critical thinking skills, structured storyboarding, and exceptional data analytical and synthesis skills

  • MBA or graduate / post-graduate degree

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)

  • Experience with business transformation planning and execution

  • Experience with design thinking and/or client experience design

  • Experience with new / emerging businesses and digital business models

The expected salary range for this particular position is $75,000 - 99,999, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
