Description
The starting rate for this position is $21.36, incremental increases are earned through developing skills and qualifications. Summary The Fleet Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing routine and adhoc maintenance to a fleet of diesel trucks. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular maintenance on diesel exhaust emission systems, and perform routine truck maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck/trailer equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. and road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on a service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Qualifications Valid driver's license required Education and/or Experience Vehicle mechanics experience - 6 mos. Minimum required Diesel mechanic certification - preferred Physical Demands Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work Environment Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
