Materials Specialist

We are currently looking for a Materials Specialist to join our growing team! This role assists our 50 plus branch locations across the country in parts lookup and ordering. This includes being part of a team that orders replenishment inventory, monitors inventory levels, assists with emergency orders and creating material returns.


This role is based out of our Sharonville (Cincinnati) office with the potential for from remote-home office a portion of the time.


What are the Duties?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide support for our Customer Support Representatives at our 50+ locations on parts lookup, orders and any returns thru our national vendor network
  • Work with our national vendors to provide the material for our branches to perform their work
  • Examine vendor programs to make an informed decision on vendor of best fit
  • Some reporting on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments
  • Perform daily communication with branch CSR's and Managers on any inventory problems
  • Analyze different suppliers to obtain the best cost-effective purchases


Education / Skills and Experience:


Parts experience with Daimler Trucks, Allison Transmissions, Perkins Engines, Truck/Fleet Maintenance or with a truck or equipment OE is extremely beneficial.


This position requires a strong willingness to learn and a helpful attitude and problem-solving ability in working with our national vendors and our branches. Teamwork, along with enjoying problem solving and providing solutions, is a main focus.


  • Bachelor's Degree in related field a Plus, OR equivalent experience with Parts Management or Equipment OE
  • Auto/Light Duty Parts Experience also beneficial
  • Relevant field experience in a fleet, dealer or wholesale environment preferred
  • Solid knowledge of parts department, inventory management software
  • An analytical mind with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Basic MS Office skills and excellent customer service skills a must

  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions
