Shift: 12/24 hour shifts. Varied shifts depending on the base. To include weekends. Bases locations are Moberly, Sedalia, and Lake Ozark. Base Pay Range: $38.00 - $54.32/hr, based on experience Shift Differentials: Additional $2.75/hr for evening shift, $4.00/hr for night shift and $3.00/hr Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Provide nursing care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility. Maintain thorough patient care documentation. Practice nursing within the scope of practice. Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences. Communicate educational needs to the nurse supervisor and the clinical educator. Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training, clinical rotations, and advanced procedures. Attend continuing education programs pertinent to the area of practice. Knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used within the program. Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures and taking initial steps to ensure repair of equipment as directed. Maintain adequate supplies onboard aircraft to deliver patient care. Keep aircraft clean and orderly to ensure rapid response to all transport requests. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, emergency medical services (EMS) representatives, hospitals, and the public. Participate in patient and referring institution follow-up. Participate in planned outreach marketing and education activities. Function as a medical flight member. Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and completes necessary documentation. Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and assists pilot as requested, i.e., radio, navigational, and visual observation activities. Comply with safety standards to ensure the safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment. Serve as a flight resource to neonatal/pediatric personnel when transporting specialty patients by helicopter. Perform advanced skills and procedures as approved by the medical director(s). Serve as a role model, educator, and clinical resource. Act as a preceptor and participate in the orientation of new employees and students as assigned. Act as a liaison and communicates program goals and objectives. Participate in continuing and outreach education programs. Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed. Maintain awareness of current issues related to pre-hospital care through participation in professional activities, i.e., national, state legislative-elected, or appointed. Participate regularly in outreach activities, projects, and committees. Attend and participate in meetings according to established departmental guidelines. Develop standards and guidelines related to the flight program as assigned. Participate in departmental quality improvement activities as assigned. Undertake and maintains projects as assigned (including research and publishing opportunities). May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years of critical care or emergency RN experience. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or bachelor's degree in health-related field. Pre-hospital or flight experience. Illinois Board of Nursing RN licensure. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees.
