Job Description

Key Responsibilities



  • Operate, monitor, and maintain bag lines to meet production, safety, and quality targets.
  • Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including:


    • Company & facility policies
    • Safety standards (LTCT, PPE, safety rules)
    • Quality checks (PQCT, bag specs, testing frequencies & procedures)
    • SOPs for work methods
    • SSOP/Good Housekeeping (maintain clean, sanitized machines & work area)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Food Safety & Security, HACCP compliance, and regulatory/customer specifications


  • Maintain accountability for scrap, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Pack bags according to specifications: capping, tube application, helical insertion, splice taping, etc.
  • Ensure accurate box and tote counts per specifications.
  • Push filled boxes of bags (70-75 lbs) from packer conveyor to box conveyor.
  • Inspect product quality; report suspect or defective items to Shift Leader/Quality Facilitator.
  • Assist team members by:


    • Cleaning and performing PM on machines
    • Helping other packers/operators when needed
    • Learning all bag specifications across all machines
    • Collaborating with Quality, Maintenance, and Technical teams for line optimization
    • Providing feedback for continuous improvement


  • Accurately complete production documentation and maintain traceability.
  • Support training of new Inspector/Packers in proper bag evaluation and packing.
  • Communicate respectfully and ask for help when needed.



Qualifications



  • 1+ years experience in machine operation (manufacturing/production environment preferred).
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, or similar manufacturing practices preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods with breaks every two hours.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written specifications.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Have knowledge of how to use a measuring tape and measure to the 16th.

Machine Operator II - Bag Line Operations

  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 1:05 AM ($2.00 shift differential)

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Pay Rate: ($23.25)
  • Sign on Bonus: $2,500

    Position Overview

    Machine Operator II is responsible for operating and maintaining bag lines to safely deliver the highest quality products at maximum efficiency and minimal scrap. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and teamwork to achieve production goals.
