Job Summary Do you have what it takes to plan, forecast, implement, and identify resource requirements for highly complex network systems? As a Network Engineer IV at Spectrum, you will lead in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of high complexity. Design, develop, and implement network enhancements and make recommendations for improvements. Lead implementation of approved network architecture and designs. Leader in staff development efforts. HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT Getting hands-on with the latest network tech-designing, building, and tuning systems that keep everything running smoothly. Creating time-saving automations and custom scripts to make your daily tasks easier (and maybe impress your coworkers, too). Working closely with a team of smart, like-minded engineers who really enjoy solving challenging technical puzzles together. Digging into hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls, finding creative fixes, and seeing the real impact of your work right away. Always learning-there's plenty of chances to try out new tools, test ideas, and help shape how the company approaches networking. What You'll Bring to Spectrum Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience Experience 6+ years of work experience Skills Ability to read, write and speak the English language Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport Extensive knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols Extensive knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology Extensive knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model, using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations, basic network devices and basic network appliances, and network designing software, such as Visio Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced team environment, and learn new technology quickly Ability to use personal computer and software applications, Microsoft Office, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator Preferred Qualifications Experience Cisco (NX-OS, IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR) Juniper OS (PTX, EX, SRX) Arista F5 (I and R Series) Load Balancers A10 Using Linux tools to test and validate network traffic, such as NetCat, dig, traceroute, ping Education Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP) Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) SPECTRUM CONNECTS YOU TO MORE Innovative Tools & Tech: Work with high-performing software and applications on the forefront of the digital telecommunications industry. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
