RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate / Limited X-ray Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Front Office Associate / Limited X-ray Technologist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by completing Registration, Insurance and Scheduling duties in addition to serving as needed under Technologist supervision in obtaining diagnostic radiographs per state guidelines (may vary by state). All responsibilities performed in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner.

This is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

50% Registration

• Greets and checks in patients while entering in applicable demographic information into the computer system
• Processes payment plans and copays with patients
• Preps paperwork, faxes reports, attends to billing requests and medial releases in service of the patient and referring offices
• Answers questions and problem solves any concerns for patients which could involve directing them to additional resources
• Acts as a liaison between the patient and technologists and other clinic areas to ensure there is proper communication and smooth transition between the front office and technical areas
• Maintains lobby area making sure it is neat, tidy with general clean up and stocking of supplies

15% Insurance

• Verifies patient insurance and obtains insurance authorizations
• Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
• Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
• Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

15% Scheduling

• Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
• Enters and submits patient exam orders
• Verifies orders match exam schedules
• Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
• Schedules walk-in patients
• Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
• Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians

15% Limited X-Ray Tech

• Produces diagnostic images in a limited, assigned area of the body under the supervision of a Registered Radiographic Technologist per State prescribed guidelines
• Performs quality control tasks as assigned
• Promotes and motivates good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors, and other company personnel
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintains accurate patient records within Radiologic Information System (RIS)

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of Limited Technologist course through accredited academic program
• 1-2 years customer service experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Proficient with using computer systems and typing

Preferred:

• Previous medical office experience or limited technologist experience
• Medical terminology and office background
• Insurance knowledge
• Bilingual
