DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Roadway Programs Technician 2, you will be essential in supporting budgeting, planning, and data analysis related to maintenance activities, programs, and costs in Chester County. Your responsibilities will include preparing and overseeing material bids through e-procurement, aligning them with summer maintenance activities and the annual work plan. You will order bulk maintenance materials, such as aggregates, and coordinate their delivery to ensure availability for projects. Additionally, you will manage contract files, handle purchasing card transactions, initiate purchase orders, and prepare specifications for products or services. Your role will also involve maintaining a list of qualified vendors, issuing requests for quotes, and evaluating bids to recommend contract awards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Summer work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Winter work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Occasional overtime required
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
