Job Title: Audio Visual Technician Location: Des Moines, IA Employment Type: Full-Time 12 month Contract to Hire Experience Level: Intermediate Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Audio Visual Technician to support the daily operations of a large, configurable conference center with multiple meeting rooms. This role is critical in ensuring seamless in-person and hybrid meetings through the management of audiovisual systems including Cisco Webex video conferencing, sound, projection, and presentation technologies. The ideal technician will have hands-on experience with AV integration, live event support, and networked collaboration tools. Strong troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to work closely with internal teams, executives, and external vendors are essential. Key Responsibilities: Technical Operations & Support * Operate and maintain AV and conferencing technology across multiple rooms. * Configure Cisco Webex Room Kits, codecs, and integrated systems. * Troubleshoot video conferencing, projection, microphone, and sound systems. * Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability. Event & Meeting Management * Provide live technical support for executive briefings and corporate events. * Collaborate with event planners to configure rooms and technology setups. * Optimize audio, video, lighting, and display settings. * Act as the primary on-site contact for technical issues during events. System Administration & Upgrades * Ensure AV systems integrate with the corporate network. * Monitor performance, apply updates, and generate usage reports. * Recommend and coordinate technology upgrades. Vendor & Inventory Management * Manage vendor relationships for service and equipment needs. * Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment and accessories. * Track equipment lifecycle and plan for replacements. Additional Support * Assist with enterprise meeting system maintenance and troubleshooting. * Support Teams Calling system during downtime. * Help assess usage across 78 conference rooms in Des Moines. Required Skills: * Audiovisual systems * Cisco Webex * Video conferencing setup and support * AV installation and configuration Work Environment: * Daily stand-up meetings with the hiring manager for ongoing support and capacity planning until the technician is fully comfortable in the role. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
