Timmons Group is currently seeking aConstruction Administratorfor ourPublic Land Development Groupin ourRaleigh, NC office.

The Construction Administrator manages the construction phase after design approval working under the guidance of the Project Manager. This role may involve working with sensitive information and coordinating with property owners, utility companies, local and state agencies.

This role is responsible for managing all construction-related documentation and handling communication with stakeholders. The Construction Administrator requires independent decision making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Prompt concise and accurate communication with Project Stakeholders, Project Manager and contractors
  • Develop construction contract documents
  • Maintain, review and respond as necessary to all project documents including RFI's, material submittals, as-built plans, contractor pay requisitions and change orders
  • Attend and facilitate pre-construction meetings, progress meetings and other construction project related meetings
  • Resolve field construction issues
  • Review pre-bid project plans for constructability and offer suggestions to the Timmons Group Project Manager
  • Review bid tabulations and recommend award to owners
  • Visit construction sites and document pertinent observations
  • Cost Estimating and review of contractor's pricing
  • Construction schedule building and review of contractors proposed schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree, with 5+ years additional training / experience in drainage, grading, earthwork, and general site/civil land development preferred
  • Professional Registration is beneficial, but not required
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore
  • Experience managing schedules and documentation across multiple construction projects
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Understanding of state and federal safety, environment, and EEO/DBE guidelines and regulations
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret civil engineering site plans, architectural plans and contract specifications
  • A current working knowledge of prevailing market rates for major cost items (earthwork, pipe installation, site concrete, etc.) for site construction projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with State Construction Process and Interscope
  • Valid driver's license required
