JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Leads a team of asset management professionals who are responsible for strategy implementation for managed investment accounts; trading; rebalancing; performance reporting; marketing; portfolio management support; and/or compliance oversight. Coaches and supervises team regarding investment systems utilization, industry trends, and regulatory changes. Communicates regularly with other line of business (LOB) managers regarding investment strategy implementation; marketing materials; investment statistics and analytical information; performance reporting; trade settlement; and other investment operational and reporting issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists and guides team members in matters relating to marketing or performance information, investment statistics or trading and portfolio construction issues.
  • Provides advice and guidance to LOB managers and team members on Investment Solutions processes and ongoing operations; reviews policies and procedures to ensure they align to current practices.
  • Implements and monitors investment strategies through various platforms utilizing SMA or UMA technology by deciding which model and investment platform should be utilized to most efficiently invest client accounts according to the investment strategy.
  • Works with Asset Allocation and due diligence teams to receive model updates and asset allocations and understand the intent and impact of the model changes.
  • Partners with Portfolio Managers to gain a better understanding of their accounts and client needs to make account level decisions and support sales and retention.
  • Guides team with regards to buy and sell decisions to ensure accounts are within rebalance parameters for the respective models.
  • May analyze portfolio holdings through attribution and performance analysis.
  • May maintain databases with portfolio analytics and provides client or departmental presentation.
  • May ensure best execution of both equity and fixed income purchases and sales.
  • Works directly with software vendors to establish programs and models.
  • Works with performance teams to ensure firm remains compliant with CFA Institute performance standards and monitors that performance information is properly communicated in databases, marketing materials, and client presentations.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws; Provides guidance and oversight to and is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the assigned team. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; associate compensation; approving expense reports; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or other related field
  • 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 7 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of the full scope of client activities: initial investment, ongoing rebalancing, client activity (contributions and withdrawals), tax loss harvesting
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of and exposure to the investment industry and investment concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of Investment systems including Envestnet, Factset, Morningstar Direct, CAPS, and Bloomberg
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Power Point, and Office

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
