JOB SUMMARY

The Events Planner is responsible for coordinating all logistical components for student, internal and external events on campus. This position is responsible for coordinating and managing and staffing all logistical and event planning components for key departments and individual schools/colleges as assigned on and off campus in order to promote and foster a continuing interest in the university. This position also assists in hiring, training, and overseeing a pool of student workers that will offer event support prior to and during events.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Staffs and attends special events and programs of key university departments and individual schools/colleges as assigned on and off campus

  • Negotiates contracts and works closely with external vendors to obtain event services

  • Assists in hiring, training, and providing oversight of the student work pool that offers event support prior to, during, and after all event requests

  • Submits work orders and requests to internal service departments for event requests

  • Coordinates logistical components for student, internal and external events on campus

  • Plans, organizes and coordinates all logistical and event planning components for special events and programs of key university departments and individual schools/ colleges as assigned on and off campus

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree

  • One year of related work experience
