Position Information

New Hanover County is looking for a Custodial Crew Leader to join the Facilities Management Department. New Hanover County's Facilities Management department oversees the maintenance and upkeep of all county owned buildings and facilities as well as energy sustainability through our utility management program. We are a dynamic team of trades professionals, custodians, supervisors and administrative staff who work every day to make our facilities the best in North Carolina. Responsibilities for this role include:
- Serve as a lead custodian
- Assign and monitor work
- Provide instruction on the operation of floor equipment: mopping and vacuuming floors
- Cleaning restrooms, windows, blinds, and office furniture
- Maintain supplies and equipment
- Remove trash
- Submit work orders for equipment and maintenance repairs
- Inspect the work of custodians
- Provides feedback and guidance on performance including annual performance evaluations
- Issues materials, maintains inventory, and communicates information and instructions from the facilities maintenance superintendent
- Adherence to Facilities Management custodial SOPs

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *This Position will be assigned to our new Project Grace facilities. Work hours and schedule are subject to change depending on business needs.
Must also be available other shifts, and m
ust be available to report for emergency work assignment during emergency situations.

Salary Information:
The hiring range
for this position is
$
40,048 - $54,064 plus a competitive benefits package.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years of custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the specific position as listed above. Must obtain a Custodial Supervisor certificate (through ISSA) within the first six months of employment.

Required:
- Valid Driver's License (from any state) and good driving record required at time of application.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License required by first date of employment with good driving record.
