Job Description:

AriensCo is excited to announce an opening for an Assistant Operations Manager at our Ariens Nordic Center in Brillion, WI! In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Sport Operation to gain hands-on experience and learn the key processes that keep the Nordic Center running smoothly.

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners

  • Assist with snowmaking efforts this includes operation of pump house, Snowmax system, snowmaking guns and other equipment

  • Assist in training other staff on snowmaking/grooming equipment and protocol

  • Operate tracked equipment on ANC property to arrange snow into groomed trails

  • Perform inspection of equipment before and after operation

  • Assist with snowmaking/grooming equipment maintenance including checking fluid levels, condition of equipment and other areas in order to maintain equipment in safe and proper working order

  • Document and report condition of snowmaking and grooming equipment

  • Monitor weather and ski conditions to assist in the preparation of the daily ski report

  • Operate snowmaking/grooming equipment and perform job duties and responsibilities in extreme weather conditions during the late evening and early morning hours of the day

  • Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, paths and other areas as necessary

  • Assist with year round venue projects including but not limited to lawn mowing, line trimming, tree trimming and target maintenance

  • Communicate schedule, machine status, or other information with other groomer employees

  • Assist with race course setup, takedown and operations including but not limited to operating timing equipment and acting as a course/range chief

  • Operate Trailhead POS and assist with Hospitality execution

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 3 years' related experience and/or training in related position

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Requires possession of valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work extended shifts with irregular start and finish hours. Work shifts that may not be on consecutive days. Work nights and weekends. Work in less than ideal conditions i.e.: cold, windy, wet and harsh conditions

  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
