Responsibilities Job Summary The nurse practitioner (NP) works collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to provide care appropriate to the age of the oncology patients served. The NP participates in H & P, treatment selection, consenting on clinical trials, eligibility screening, and ongoing management of patients' symptoms due to disease and/or treatment. As sub-investigator, the NP takes an active role in the in assessment, planning, implementation, treatment, and evaluation of oncology patients, predominately in the outpatient setting, participating in clinical research studies. The position is associated with a significant level of autonomy; therefore, the individual must be highly motivated and able to work independently. As an advanced practice nurse (APN) demonstrates leadership as a provider, educator, mentor and researcher. The APN adheres to and functions within the scope of practice defined by the Arizona Board of Nursing and Honor Health privileges. Essential Functions
