Location: * Appleton, WI Position Summary: The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely verification of patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements prior to treatment. This role supports the front office and billing operations by maintaining up-to-date patient coverage information and facilitating smooth appointment and treatment workflows. Responsibilities: * Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for all patient accounts with precision. * Enter and update patient demographic information and maintain accurate profiles. * Review upcoming appointments to ensure all insurance requirements are met. * Obtain insurance authorizations, pre-certifications, and initiate appeals when necessary. * Confirm insurance coverage and collect deposits when applicable. * Handle overflow calls and provide backup support to the front desk as needed. * Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager. Qualifications: * Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a physician's office performing insurance verification duties. * Strong understanding of insurance payers, benefits, and authorization processes. * Experience with billing and collections is a plus. * Familiarity with ENT, Audiology, and Allergy practices is helpful. * Proficiency in EHR software and Windows applications. * Basic knowledge of medical terminology and simple mathematical skills. * Ability to navigate multiple insurance portals to review benefit coverage details. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team. * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. * Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and other healthcare laws. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
