GENERAL FUNCTION:

Cyber Threat Interdiction is seeking a visionaryConsulting Information Security Engineerto serve as a catalyst for change in how we detect, respond to, and understand cyber threats. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Senior Director and is designed for a forward-thinking technologist who thrives at the intersection of cyber tradecraft and AI innovation.

You will be responsible for identifying revolutionary changes in detection engineering, threat hunting, and cyber intelligence, with a strong emphasis on integrating AI tools and approaches to reshape our operational capabilities. You will participate in a variety of projects that advance the capabilities of Cyber Threat Interdiction, from process improvements, to capability development. This role is not just about incremental improvement - it's about reimagining the future of cyber defense.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the identification and integration of cutting-edge AI technologies into cyber detection, response, and intelligence workflows.

• Architect and prototype novel cyber solutions, APIs, and automation frameworks that challenge conventional approaches.

• Act as a strategic partner to the Senior Director, helping shape the future direction of the organization's cyber capabilities.

• Collaborate across engineering, threat intelligence, and operations teams to ensure alignment and continuity in telemetry and control strategies.

• Develop representative detections and threat models to validate new approaches and train internal teams.

• Maintain deep awareness of emerging technologies, adversary tradecraft, and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.

• Champion a product mindset - driving solutions that are scalable, measurable, and impactful.

• Serve as a SME security engineer/consultant on projects.

• Participate in conducting security research on threats and remediation techniques/ technology, make recommendations to the IS/IT teams and oversee their implementation.

• Mentor more junior members of the team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 8 years in hands-on engineering roles.

• Demonstrated expertise in detection engineering, threat hunting, and cyber intelligence.

• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in cybersecurity.

• Proven ability to lead through influence and drive change across complex organizations.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, telemetry pipelines, and security architecture.

• Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows environments.

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent are preferred.

• Actively monitor industry trends; participate in industry forums, professional associations, conferences, etc.

• Mentor junior engineers and/or analysts.
